About Me
I hold a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology. I have five years of experience teaching parenting skills aimed to strengthen the parent-child bond in a program setting and over 4-years experience providing therapy to children. I am trained in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and use non-directive play therapy techniques to teach parents how to strengthen the bond with their children. I hold a Graduate Certificate in Medical Family Therapy (MedFT), understanding how medical conditions impact mental health of individuals and families. I also hold a certification in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

I believe there is great strength in the relationships held within the family and therefore believe in helping individuals by working through their family systems. As a clinician and mother of three, I greatly value family and the parent-child relationship as this provides the foundation for all sequential relationships throughout an individual’s life.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family- both outside in nature camping, picnicking, and fishing, as well as cuddled up inside our home for family movie and game nights.

Specializing in Anxiety, Depression and Trauma Treatment in Couples , Families, and Children
Anxiety
Using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy (NT) techniques, I help my client's to gain a sense of power by externalizing their anxiety and making cognitive/behavioral changes to train anxious thoughts and reduce distress.
Depression
Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help my client' s to identify and challenge ruminating negative thoughts that can lead to depression and help them to find the joy in their lives that is often overshadowed by those thoughts.
Trauma
Using Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), I help my clients to process their trauma in a safe space while practicing techniques to self-regulate. Clients then learn to re-write their trauma narrative to gain a sense of power and control over their past so they can focus on their future.
Couples Therapy
Using an integrated approach, I help couples examine early experiences in their families of origin and early intimate relationships that continue to impact how they interact with their partner on a day-to-day basis. Couples then learn effective communication skills and work towards building shared meaning.
Family Therapy
Parents are the leaders of their households, often building off of what they learned from their own parents. I help families by examining their foundations and helping them to identify tools they already have to build and re-build as needed to heal and strengthen family bonds within the family.
Child Therapy
Children communicate through play, art, and stories. Using play, art, and narrative therapy techniques, I help my clients to identify and understand their emotions and help develop executive functioning and self-regulation skills. A parent or guardian can aid by learning parenting techniques (taught in session) to support their young child between therapy sessions.
